Tasha Ghouri has spoken about her emotional split from Andrew Le Page in a candid new interview with Rylan on his BBC Sounds podcast How to Be in Love.
The Strictly Come Dancing and Love Island star revealed she has not really discussed the breakup publicly before, telling Rylan, “I’ve not really actually spoken about it.”
Tasha and Andrew met on Love Island in 2022, and she reflected on what she now sees as the show’s ‘misogynistic’ dynamics.
“When a girl was to do something so little, it’s blown out proportion but if a boy was to go have three-way kisses with other people, it’s applauded,” she said. She also admitted she has never watched the footage of Andrew in Casa Amor with Coco Lodge, explaining, “I never watched it back, so I don’t really know what actually happened.”
Describing him as her first love, Tasha said, “He was the first boy I was in love with. We got a flat together, and then we bought a house, we got a dog together.”
However, cracks in their relationship deepened after Tasha joined Strictly Come Dancing last year. “On social media…it did come across like he was there supporting me, but emotionally at home, he wasn’t,” she shared.
When the couple split, Tasha was on the Strictly Tour. “It came out when I was on Strictly Tour. It actually got leaked,” she said, becoming tearful as she admitted feeling pressure because of public interest. “Especially Love Island fans, they are so invested in your relationship from day dot. I felt like I was breaking everybody’s hearts and not just his.”
Rylan, who has spoken about his own public divorce, empathised, saying, “That’s exactly what happened to me. When I went through a divorce, I had a full-on breakdown because it wasn’t just us… I felt that everyone’s gonna think, oh look his life isn’t perfect. Oh look like he’s failed.”
Tasha also shared her regrets about how the relationship ended. “My biggest regret is how I treated him in that breakup, and I should have been so much nicer than I was.”
She confirmed they are not in contact now, adding, “I don’t hate him. He was the first boy I was in love with. I learned so much from him, like he taught me so much about love and I will take that with me. He’s gonna find somebody else that will love him for him, but it just wasn’t with me.”
Tasha revealed she is now in the early stages of dating someone new, saying, “We clicked straight away, like he’s very ambitious, he’s driven… we’ve just been enjoying our company and just seeing what happens really.”
Closing the interview, she offered a hopeful message to listeners: “Love is out there for everybody. There are different types of love. The love I experienced with Andrew was my first love – a special love – but you can fall in love again.”
