Team behind Dish From Waitrose podcast launch new production company

Cold Glass Productions is a new independent production company launched today by the team behind the Dish From Waitrose podcast.

The new company will combine marketing, social, and editorial expertise, to develop new formats and programmes for digital and OTT platforms. This will include productions across podcasting, YouTube, social channels and live events as well as using their social marketing experience to build bigger digital audiences for broadcasters, advertisers and rights holders.

The company is entering the market with four productions:

  • Dish From Waitrose – Europe’s biggest branded audio and video podcast.
  • The BRIT Awards with Mastercard & The Mercury Prize – producing all social content and digital media assets for campaigns.
  • BBC – Retained by the BBC, Cold Glass produces social and digital content for BBC Radio 1, 1X, 2, 3 4, 6Music, Asian Network, and BBC Sounds.
  • Murano Restaurant Group – working with Angela Hartnett and her restaurant group to build her personal and professional brands across digital, social and broadcast platforms.

Cold Glass Productions is founded by Ben Kerr (Chief Executive Officer), Mark Rivers (Chief Creative Officer), Sam Cocker (Director of Production), and Tom Young (Director of Content). The company’s board is chaired by Barry Dudley.

Ben, Mark, Sam, and Tom have worked together for the past four years leading S:E Creative Studio, a Sony Music Entertainment company.

Prior to that, they were part of the management team at Somethin’ Else, the production company acquired by Sony Music Entertainment. Their individual careers span leading roles at organisations including Omnicom, BBC, Mumsnet, The Guardian, and Global, earning accolades across broadcasting, advertising, and marketing sectors.

Chair, Barry Dudley – a partner at Green Square Corporate Finance Advisory Practice – brings additional strategic, and operational expertise. Prior to Green Square, he previously served as Group COO at Naked Communications, where he spearheaded international expansion before overseeing its sale.

Ben, Mark, Sam, and Tom said: “The BBC, The BRITs and The Mercury Prize are at the heart of UK music and entertainment culture, and we’ve loved being part of the BBC and The BPI teams for the last ten years. It’s an honour that they’ve decided to continue their partnership with us in our new venture.

“When we began Dish From Waitrose with Angela and Nick three years ago, we had a plan that has pretty much happened. But the biggest win is the massive fun we have producing something we all love working on.

“So we’ve started Cold Glass to keep enjoying these productions. And to start new ones we can keep enjoying together.”
