Tesco Mobile partners Global to sponsor The Sports Agents

Tesco Mobile is now the headline sponsor of Global’s podcast The Sports Agents, hosted by sports broadcasters Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman.

Launched in February, the podcast is now available every Tuesday and Thursday on Global Player and so far, has had over a million downloads.

The six-month podcast sponsorship will be around Tesco Mobile’s new brand platform, ‘It Pays to be Connected,’ with a light-hearted and uniquely British look at the various community groups many of us inadvertently find ourselves in.

The campaign touches on the humorous, and all-too-relatable conversations that go on in these groups, to show the importance of good network connections in keeping people together.

To bring the campaign to life, The Sports Agents hosts Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman will tell funny anecdotes about the many group chats they’ve been added to, agreeing that ultimately, sport wouldn’t be the same without them.

Rachel Swift, Chief Customer Officer at Tesco Mobile said: “We’re delighted to launch this partnership with Global as part of their incredible podcast The Sports Agents. Gabby and Mark are the perfect pair to help us bring this new campaign to life and showcase Tesco Mobile’s vital role in helping people stay connected to their communities.

“With no EU roaming fees for the rest of the year, frozen contracts with Clubcard Prices, and 99% UK network coverage, sports fans can be confident they won’t miss a beat of this year’s incredible action on Tesco Mobile. We’re looking forward to working closely with Global on this campaign.”

Mike Gordon, Chief Commercial Officer at Global said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Tesco Mobile as the new sponsor of The Sports Agents. Long-term podcast sponsorships enable a huge amount of collaboration so I’m looking forward to working with the team over at Tesco Mobile to create memorable content together during a summer of sport that’s set to be gripping.

“Our research has found that 61% of sports podcast listeners listen to a podcast at least once a week and two thirds are ABC1 so this will be a winning partnership all round.”
