The Lost Tapes of History podcast features Stephen and the Assertiveness Coach

This week sees the release of the fourth episode of a new weekly podcast: The Lost Tapes of History; for those who like their history lessons with a side order of humour.

The podcast imagines finding a stack of audio tapes containing the first few minutes of interviews and private conversations between Englandโ€™s monarchs and some therapists, counsellors, officials and professionals just trying to do their job.

Episode 4 features Stephen and the Assertiveness Coach. The date is September 1153. Stephen is due to meet with Henry of Anjou, his rival claimant to the throne. Stephen doesnโ€™t have a great track record at negotiation, or anything else for that matter. His followers suggest assertiveness training.

A spokesperson for Stephen said: โ€œI donโ€™t really do anything here to be honest. Heโ€™s a terrible boss. Canโ€™t give direction or orders. I just spend my time reading parchments and playing chess. He wonโ€™t fire me; he hasnโ€™t got the bottle.โ€
