LBC presenter Vanessa Feltz is teaming up with her daughter, child therapist and author Saskia Joss, to launch a new Global original podcast.
The series is designed to help parents tackle the challenges of childhood anxiety.
Help! My Child’s Anxious will offer practical advice and conversations for parents, carers and grandparents.
Each week, Vanessa and Saskia will draw on their personal and professional experiences to discuss common family struggles, from sibling rivalries to dealing with panic attacks and the ups and downs of the teenage years.
They will also cover relevant news and policy updates that may affect families.
The podcast comes as new research from Ipsos reveals that more than one in four UK parents of children aged four to seventeen say their child has experienced anxiety or panic attacks in the last year.
Saskia, who wrote My Child’s Anxiety is Giving Me Anxiety, says the podcast is about breaking the cycle of family anxiety with trusted tools and support for parents who often feel overwhelmed.
Vanessa says listeners can expect her trademark warmth, humour and candid reflections as both a single mother and grandmother.
She said: “I am delighted to team up with my daughter child therapist and anxiety specialist, Saskia Joss, to help worried parents guide their anxious children through life’s challenges.
“We share the stories of our own relationship, alongside tips and tools, and we bring the perspective of two different generations to bear on children’s anxiety which is fast becoming a pandemic.”
Saskia added: “Teaming up with my iconic mum to bring these conversations to life is a real privilege, and we’re looking forward to sharing what I’ve learned and hearing from families too as we work to make things a little better for all families.”
New episodes of Help! My Child’s Anxious will be released every week from 26 June on Global Player and all major podcast platforms.
