Voiceworks creates first RAF podcast series in latest recruitment campaign

New podcast series Generation RAF was launched last week as part of the new RAF recruitment campaign.

The series features the opportunities made possible by a career in the Royal Air Force with first-hand stories from the people serving their country.  From the diverse and inclusive roles available to what itโ€™s like raising a family whilst serving for your country, listeners discover what a career in the RAF has to offer.

The series also aims to do some myth-busting about RAF careers targeting new audiences engaging with podcasts.

The podcast was created by Voiceworks, the audio production and voice technology company.

Voiceworks Brand Partnerships Director, Paul Swaine, said: โ€œThe RAF came to us at the start of 2021 wanting to reach new audiences via audio, creating a personality and showcasing the breadth of career opportunities available.

โ€œThey hadnโ€™t originally considered podcasts as part of their recruitment campaign, however one of their objectives was to show how diverse the RAF is and what itโ€™s really like to be part of it today.

โ€œSpeaking with people from all backgrounds providing a candid view of their own careers, created the kind of relatable content which you couldnโ€™t do in a press ad, or on the side of a bus. With nearly 16 million people in the UK listening to podcasts every week and the required target audience, it was a must.โ€

Jamie Griffiths, Producer of the series for Voiceworks added: โ€œUsing audio to tell the stories of those currently enjoying a career in the RAF is really powerful.  You discover so many things you didnโ€™t know about roles in the RAF which is invaluable for those who hadnโ€™t considered that direction.

โ€œTalking with the guests over the course of a few weeks the RAF is an incredible team of people.  You really hear the passion for their roles and so thereโ€™s no better way to recruit the next generation.โ€

The series is available now on all major podcast platforms.
