Spotify Partner Program sees revenue growth for eligible video podcasters

After one month into the new Spotify Partner Program, early results show notable consumption and revenue growth for eligible video podcasters on Spotify.

Since December 2024, the top 20 video podcasts eligible for the Spotify Partner Program have seen an average 24%+ growth of consumption.

Overall, video podcast consumption on Spotify is up more than 20% since the programme was launched.

The Spotify Partner Program grew payouts to creators by over 300% this January compared to January 2024

As a brand-new revenue stream for enrolled shows, it delivered impressive results immediately. Hundreds of podcast creators surpassed $10,000 in monthly revenue, with the top earners crossing well into six figures in the first month alone.

In just one month, Modern Wisdom, a top video podcast hosted by Chris Williamson, saw a 36% increase in consumption on Spotify, leading to a substantial first payout from the Spotify Partner Program.

We’re All Insane, the mental health podcast hosted by Devorah Roloff, has grown consumption by nearly six times since adding video last June. Revenue from Spotify is up, too — the show earned more than $17,000 during the first month of the Spotify Partner Program.

Kinda Funny Gamecast, a video game podcast, added video to Spotify in the last two months and grew 21% YTD to an all-time high in consumption hours, guiding to over $10,000 in SPP revenue for the show in January.

A Spotify spokesperson said: “As video consumption continues to accelerate on Spotify, we aim to give creators more opportunities to earn for that video engagement on the platform, while giving Premium listeners a better viewing experience, uninterrupted by dynamic ads in select markets.

“The Spotify Partner Program empowers creators with multiple revenue streams, including audience-driven payouts from Spotify Premium video engagement in select markets and ad monetisation on Spotify Free and other podcast platforms.

“This flexibility gives creators greater control over their businesses, helping them adapt to shifts in the growing podcast audience while driving incremental revenue.”
