Spotify users can now ask ChatGPT for personalised music and podcast recommendations, thanks to a newly launched integration.
Both Free and Premium users can connect their Spotify account to ChatGPT to discover songs, artists, playlists, and podcasts directly within the chat experience.
The integration allows Spotify to respond to requests using real-time context from conversations, surfacing tailored audio suggestions instantly.
Once connected, users can ask for anything and ChatGPT will present playable links that open directly in the Spotify app, offering a seamless listening experience across web and mobile.
Free listeners will have access to Spotify’s existing catalogue of playlists like Discover Weekly and New Music Friday, while Premium subscribers can request more elaborate, fully personalised playlists created from their listening habits.
Spotify says the feature will continue to evolve as it refines its technology, combining data-driven personalisation with the expertise of its human editors. The integration works in English across 145 countries and supports ChatGPT Free, Plus, and Pro users.
Crucially, Spotify emphasised that connecting the service is optional and fully controlled by the user, with clear privacy protections. The company confirmed that no music, podcasts, or video content will be shared with OpenAI for training purposes.
