Independent Podcast Awards entries deadline extended by two weeks

The Independent Podcast Awards has extended its entry deadline, giving podcast creators an extra two weeks to submit their work.

The original closing date was due to be 8 June, but organisers have announced that entries will now remain open until 22 June following strong demand.

This year marks the fourth edition of the awards, which were co-founded by Verbal Diorama and whynow in 2023. The awards were created to celebrate independently produced podcasts, including those made in creators’ spare time and outside the pressures of commercial sponsorship.

Since launching, the Independent Podcast Awards has attracted more than 1,400 entries, shortlisted over 500 podcasts and recognised 75 winners.

Once entries close, organisers face the task of judging all submissions and are currently looking for people to help with the process. Those interested in becoming a judge can register their interest by completing the awards’ application form.

Industry support for this year’s event is already in place, with Acast, Advertising Week Europe, AudioUK, Kings Place, Podnews, Rusty Quill and TrueFans confirmed as supporters.

The awards ceremony will take place on 4 November at Kings Place in King’s Cross, London. Further details about the event are expected closer to the date.
