A new Sony Music Entertainment podcast revisits the disturbing case of Dominique “Nique” Leili.
Watching You is a true crime series that uncovers the events leading to the death of Dominique “Nique” Leili in the summer of 2011 and the chilling surveillance that shaped her final months.
Hosted by acclaimed storyteller Jonathan Hirsch, the series examines the investigation that followed Nique’s disappearance, revealing the secrets, recordings and family experiences that defined a case which captivated audiences more than a decade ago.
Nique, a mother of three, went missing in July 2011. Her sister led a week-long search that drew national attention across the United States before Nique was found dead in woodland near her suburban Georgia home.
The investigation quickly revealed a disturbing pattern of surveillance inside the family’s house. Her husband Matt had been secretly monitoring the household for years through hidden cameras placed in rooms throughout the property.
The footage uncovered a climate of jealousy, control and manipulation that had escalated far beyond anything her family suspected, exposing a devastating truth about the turmoil Nique was facing.
Across the series, never-before-released audio features from thousands of those recordings, offering unprecedented insight into daily life inside the household and the pressures building beneath the surface.
Hirsch speaks with those closest to Nique, including all three of her daughters and her sister, who together recount the fear, uncertainty and emotional strain that surrounded Nique in her final months, as well as the lasting impact the case has had on their lives.
