Podcast Movement Evolutions at SXSW adds more talent to lineup

Podcast Movement Evolutions at SXSW has added new on-stage talent, including Maya Hawke and Andy Grammer.

Actor and musician Maya Hawke will appear as a special guest for a live recording of the Broken Record podcast, expanding the event’s mix of podcasting, music and entertainment.

On Saturday, 14 March, Companion Podcasts will host a full evening of live performances and reflective storytelling, with an acoustic headline set from multi-platinum artist Andy Grammer.

The programme will adapt Companion’s podcast output for a live audience, with further acts to be confirmed on the Podcast Movement and SXSW websites.

These new additions build on a weekend already set to include live podcast recordings and conversations, with previously announced names including MrBallen, also known as John Allen, Emmy-nominated actor Kensington Tallman, Allison Dunbar and Shaan Sharma.

Friday evening will also introduce a Red Seat Ventures-sponsored cocktail hour, featuring a conversation about building creator-led media businesses beyond podcasting.

Red Seat Ventures SVP of Sales Jeremy Price and VP of Business Development Chris Peterson will be joined by Audiochuck chief executive Matt Starker for the discussion.

Bryan Barletta, President of Podcast Movement and Partner at Sounds Profitable, said: “We’ve built Podcast Movement Evolutions at SXSW to bring together creators, platforms, and audiences in the same room, at the exact moment audio is colliding with every other form of media.

“This lineup is a testament to the way that podcasting is culture, entertainment, and business today.”

Podcast Movement Evolutions at SXSW takes place from 13–15 March at the Skybox in downtown Austin.

The event is supported by sponsors including Acast, Amazon Music, Audacy, ESPN, NPR, Nielsen, Red Seat Ventures and Soundstack, alongside a wide range of media, technology and advertising partners.
