The latest episode of the Moving Minds podcast features organisers of Pride in Hull discussing the event’s ongoing significance for the LGBTQ+ community.
Andy Train and Lee Pearson, key members of the Pride in Hull team, joined host Gemma Oaten on board a Hull Trains service to share their personal stories and reflect on the event’s 25th anniversary.
Andy, Chair of Pride in Hull, said: “We’d like to thank the team at Hull Trains for six amazing years of supporting this iconic event for the city. On our 25th anniversary, Pride in Hull continues to be more vital than ever and it’s an event that celebrates our city and the people who make it what it is.”
He added that joining Gemma on the podcast was a special opportunity to raise awareness of mental health within LGBTQ+ communities and to explain why Pride remains important.
This year’s Pride in Hull will take place at Zebedee’s Yard, with performances from Drag Race UK winner Ginger Johnson and West End performer Kerry Ellis. The event will also offer a family area and a community market.
Hull Trains is providing free travel to and from Hull from selected stations for those attending the event. The company has supported Pride in Hull for six years and continues to champion arts and cultural events across the region.
Moving Minds, launched earlier this year to mark Time To Talk Day, is recorded during Hull Trains journeys on the East Coast Main Line.
Guests join the onboard studio to discuss mental health and wellbeing. The podcast is available on the Hull Trains YouTube channel and major podcast platforms, with more episodes featuring celebrity guests and local figures planned.
