The Oprah Podcast returns with Allen Levi opening new season

The second season of The Oprah Podcast has launched with an episode featuring bestselling author Allen Levi and guests reflecting on the impact of his novel.

The season premiere sees Oprah Winfrey speak with Allen about his book, Theo of Golden, and how it went from being quietly self published to becoming a number one New York Times bestseller.

They also discuss the theme of connectedness within the novel, what the story means to Allen and one truth he hopes readers will take from it.

The episode also includes appearances from country singer songwriter Walker Hayes, record producer Claude Kelly and designer and television host Tamara Day, who share how the book has affected their own lives.

To coincide with the launch of the new season, Oprah also appeared on the latest episode of Baby, this is Keke Palmer.

During that conversation, she discussed purpose, leadership and the approach that helped make The Oprah Winfrey Show the number one daytime talk show for 25 years.

Oprah also reflected on the moment she says changed her career, explaining why authenticity became central to her work.

She spoke about rethinking her editorial decisions after interviewing members of the Ku Klux Klan, saying she realised she had unintentionally given hate groups a platform.

She also discussed how an on air betrayal prompted her to reconsider the kinds of stories she wanted to tell on television.
