Podcast Movement Evolutions to become part of SXSW programming

Podcast Movement and Sounds Profitable have announced that Podcast Movement Evolutions will be officially embedded within SXSW programming for the first time.

The three-day event will take place from 13–15 March, with a takeover of the Sky Box venue in downtown Austin TX.

Podcast Movement Evolutions at SXSW will bring together podcast creators, platforms, advertisers, and media leaders to explore how podcasting continues to develop across culture, business, and entertainment.

Organisers say the move reflects the growing importance of podcasting not just as a standalone format, but as part of a broader media and advertising ecosystem.

“The business of podcasting has matured dramatically, but its role in the broader media ecosystem is still evolving,” said Bryan Barletta, President of Podcast Movement and Partner at Sounds Profitable.

“Embedding Evolutions within SXSW creates space for real conversations about growth, measurement, creativity, and where podcasting fits next.”

Across the three days, the Podcast Movement space will host a wide range of programming designed to appeal to both creators and industry decision-makers.

Plans include a morning keynote from YouTube, sponsored panel discussions with senior industry figures, curated networking opportunities, and a dedicated podcast recording booth for creators attending SXSW.

Each evening will feature live programming, including recordings of live podcasts from established shows such as Table Read, alongside musical performances from celebrity talent.

The organisers say the mix of daytime business sessions and evening live experiences is intended to reflect podcasting’s growing influence across multiple creative formats.

The event is supported by sponsors from across media, technology, and advertising, including Acast, Amazon Music, Airwave Media, Magellan AI, NPR, Audacy, ESPN, ART19, and the Locked On Podcast Network, alongside a range of agencies and technology providers.

Podcast Movement and Sounds Profitable say the collaboration underlines how podcasting is increasingly shaping modern media strategy, measurement, and creative storytelling within global events such as SXSW.
