Sara Cox and Clare Hamilton’s hit podcast The Teen Commandments is entering a new partnership to be produced by Audio Always.
The podcast began last year as an independently recorded idea, made quite literally in Sara Cox’s shed, and quickly struck a chord with parents navigating teenage life.
Within a week of launch it reached number one in Apple’s podcast charts, continued to grow its audience steadily, and has now passed one million downloads. Apple also named it one of its Best podcasts of last year.
Hosted by broadcaster Sara Cox and her best friend of more than thirty years, Clare Hamilton, The Teen Commandments describes itself as less advice podcast and more “parenting panic room”. Between them, the pair are raising five teenagers, placing them firmly in what they call the teenage trenches.
The move to Audio Always is designed to help the podcast reach new listeners while preserving the informal tone that has defined it from the start.
Recordings will now take place in a new studio space that retains elements of Sara’s original shed setup, maintaining the familiar, homely feel that listeners associate with the show.
Episodes will continue to be available across all major platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon Music, with video versions also available on YouTube.
Audio Always will support the podcast’s growing digital presence, managing new Instagram and TikTok accounts under the handle @teencommandments.
The partnership also includes marketing support and commercial development, with Audio Always working alongside Acast to help grow advertising and revenue opportunities as the audience increases.
Sara Cox and Clare Hamilton say the podcast began simply as an excuse to spend time together, adding that the response from listeners has transformed it into something far bigger than they ever imagined. They described the move from shed to studio as the same podcast at heart, with improved production values.
Audio Always founder and managing director Stuart Morgan said the podcast’s warmth and honesty had resonated strongly with audiences.
He said the company was excited to support its next phase, enhancing audio, video and social output while helping to build the wider community around the show.
