AIBs 2026 entries open across podcasting, radio and digital journalism

Entries are now open for the AIBs 2026, recognising audio, video and digital journalism worldwide.

The Association for International Broadcasting has launched the 22nd annual AIBs, inviting submissions from broadcasters, production companies and independent producers across all platforms including podcasting, radio and digital-first content.

Now into its third decade, the competition reflects how journalism and factual storytelling are evolving across global markets, with entries spanning breaking news, investigative reporting, documentaries and digital formats created for audiences at every level.

Over the past 21 years, winners have included organisations such as the BBC, CNN, France 24, SBS Australia, Mediacorp Pte Ltd and VRT, alongside production companies and digital publishers including The Guardian and the Financial Times.

With 21 categories available this year, the awards cover a wide range of formats across audio and video, highlighting the continued role of podcasting and on-demand content within the wider media landscape.

Simon Spanswick, Chief Executive of the Association for International Broadcasting, said: “In an increasingly febrile and uncertain global environment, the role of journalism has never been more vital.

“Across the world, journalists and programme-makers are working under pressure to deliver accurate, trusted and insightful reporting that helps audiences make sense of an ever more complex world.”

Clare Fuller, Producer of the AIBs, added: “In 2026, the AIBs offer a wide-ranging set of 21 categories that reflect the diversity and creativity of factual production today.

“From audio to video, from investigative journalism to cultural storytelling, we are looking forward to seeing entries that demonstrate both editorial excellence and innovation.”

Entries close on 3 July, with finalists due to attend a gala ceremony in London on 20 November.
