Spotify launched 20 years ago and has now revealed its most streamed audio across its entire history.
The streaming platform has published, for the first time, its all-time rankings of artists, albums, songs, podcasts and audiobooks, based on global listening data up to April this year.
The lists draw on listening habits from hundreds of millions of users worldwide and reflect what audiences have consistently chosen to play over two decades of the service.
Rather than focusing on short-term trends or recent releases, the rankings highlight content that has maintained long-term engagement, offering a broader view of how music and spoken-word audio have performed on the platform since its launch.
Spotify says the selections represent titles that have moved beyond initial success to become part of everyday listening, shaped by repeated streams over time across different regions and audiences.
The inclusion of podcasts and audiobooks alongside music underlines how the platform’s audio offering has expanded, with spoken-word content now forming a significant part of its overall consumption.
The data provides a snapshot of how global listening behaviour has evolved, as well as the role Spotify has played in distributing both music and non-music audio formats at scale.
The company has not attached specific figures within the announcement, but positions the lists as a reflection of sustained popularity based on cumulative streams rather than short-term spikes.
