Podcasters using the Copilot app will lose access to its Podcasts feature from 18 August 2026.
After this date, users will not be able to create or access any podcasts within Copilot, and all previously created podcasts will be permanently unavailable.
This change affects all users, regardless of whether they are on a free or paid plan. The company has confirmed that there will be no way to export or save podcasts outside the Copilot environment before the retirement date.
Once the feature is removed, podcast links previously shared with others will also stop working.
A company spokesperson addressed the change: “We understand that some customers used this feature and appreciate the feedback we receive about Copilot experiences.”
The Podcasts feature was only accessible within Copilot and did not offer any export or backup options.
As a result, users are advised that any content created using the feature will be lost after the retirement date.
The removal of Podcasts does not impact other elements of the Copilot app or any Microsoft 365 subscriptions. Users will continue to have access to the remaining features and benefits included in their plans.
No further details have been provided about the reasons behind the retirement or whether a replacement feature will be introduced in the future.
