Armin van Buuren has partnered with Apple Music Classical and Apple Music to launch his first-ever acoustic album, Piano.
The renowned DJ and Grammy nominated producer is known globally for his dominance in electronic dance music. He has been named the world’s number one DJ five times by DJ Mag and holds a record twenty-one entries on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
His weekly radio show A State of Trance reaches over forty-four million listeners in eighty countries.
Drawing from his early exposure to classical composers through his father, van Buuren says his love of melody and harmony shaped his signature trance sound. With Piano, he steps fully into the world of acoustic composition, performing solo pieces and collaborations with a cellist and chamber orchestra.
“This project shows another side of me: intimate, honest, direct,” van Buuren said. “After decades of trance and festivals, I longed for music without pressure, just fingers on keys. This album is my most personal work: from heart, to keys, to ears.”
Apple Music Classical’s Global Director Anjali Malhotra praised the collaboration, saying: “Artists like Armin ensure that classical music is always evolving and engaging with new audiences, which is at the heart of everything Apple Music Classical and Apple Music strive for.”
The album was recorded in one take at ConcertLab earlier this year and will be available exclusively on Apple Music Classical and Apple Music for one week from 31 October.
