Bauer podcasts and radio brands join Fire TV Channels rollout

Bauer Media Audio is bringing a range of its radio and podcast video content to Amazon Fire TV users as the platform expands beyond the United States.

The agreement makes Bauer Media Audio an official launch video content provider for Fire TV Channels, which is already available in the US and is due to roll out in the UK, Germany and Canada in the coming months.

The move will see Bauer extend the reach of its video and video podcast content beyond its own platforms and into connected television environments. Fire TV users will be able to access the content without a subscription.

In the UK, channels will include Hits Radio, KISS, Pete Wicks’ Man Made, Katherine Ryan’s What’s My Age Again and Lost in Translation.

Irish content will include Off The Ball, Newstalk, Talking Bollox, Mark Mehigan’s Weekly Roast, Stall It and Family Flowers Only.

The partnership is part of Bauer Media Audio’s wider plans to grow its audiovisual presence and increase distribution across multiple platforms.

The company says the strategy is designed to strengthen audience engagement and create new commercial opportunities through connected TV.

Tobias Nielsen, SVP of Digital at Bauer Media Audio, said: “Launching on Amazon Fire TV marks an important step in scaling our audiovisual distribution and unlocking new commercial opportunities across connected TV.”

Charlie Brookes, Director of Digital at Bauer Media Audio UK, added: “We are excited to collaborate with Amazon Fire TV as a launch video content partner and the opportunity to bring our wide range of Bauer Media audiovisual content to new audiences with changing consumption habits.”

He said the partnership would help showcase content from brands including Hits Radio and KISS, alongside podcasts hosted by names such as Katherine Ryan and Pete Wicks.
