BBC’s Focus on Africa podcast celebrates first anniversary

BBC Africa’s flagship podcast, Focus on Africa offers insightful discussions and diverse viewpoints on pressing issues facing the continent.

Hosted by the award-winning team of Audrey Brown and Richard Kagoe, the programme looks into the political landscape, healthcare developments, social-political challenges, and vibrant cultures, all through the lens of leading African contributors and experts including, politicians, business leaders, activists and artists.

Now celebrating its first year, across 12 months the podcast has hosted groundbreaking interviews, including an exclusive with former Senegalese President Macky Sall and a conversation with music legend Stevie Wonder on his recent Ghanaian citizenship.

Past guests include Kenya’s former Foreign Affairs Minister, Alfred Mutua; Botswana’s youngest-ever Minister, Bogolo Kenewendo; US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken; Nigerian Afrobeats star Mr Eazi; and the powerhouse manager behind Burna Boy, Bose Ogulu.
