LNER launches Kids Club podcast for young train travellers

LNER has launched a new children’s podcast offering fun and educational content designed to make train journeys more engaging for its youngest passengers.

LNER Kids Club features a mix of stories, interviews, games, and fun facts, all aimed at sparking curiosity and encouraging learning among children. Travellers can access the podcast during journeys by scanning the QR code found on the back of seats.

Across its first three episodes, the show features voices from a wide range of LNER staff, including train drivers, station assistants, digital managers, and officers from the British Transport Police.

Listeners will also hear from LNER’s Managing Director, David Horne, as he answers questions sent in by inquisitive young passengers.

The podcast is hosted by Emma-Louise Amanshia and Lauren Underwood. Through a series of interviews and informative segments, the hosts introduce young listeners to the wide variety of roles across the railway, helping them see the railway not just as a means of travel, but as a fascinating place to work.

“We’re delighted to be offering our younger passengers an exciting new way to make the most of their LNER adventures,” said Stuart Thomas, LNER’s Communications Director. “Whether it’s a quick trip or a longer journey, we hope Kids Club will become a firm favourite with children and their families.”

Hosts Emma-Louise Amanshia and Lauren Underwood added: “Both of us are huge fans of trains, so it’s an honour to host LNER Kids Club.

“It’s been an amazing experience to meet some of the incredible people who work at LNER and several of its younger customers who we’ve no doubt are railway colleagues of the future!”

LNER Kids Club is available now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other podcast platforms, as well as on board LNER trains via the digital portal.
