Lyca Xtra is a new weekly podcast designed to amplify the voices and perspectives of the British Asian community.
Launching in January 2026 by Lyca Radio Network, the podcast will follow its strapline, The Sound of the British Asian Generation, by focusing on culture, commentary and contemporary issues while featuring conversations that reflect the interests of its core audience.
The company says the series will fill a long-standing gap for speech-driven content within UK Asian commercial radio by providing a dedicated space for extended discussion.
Speaking about the launch, Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Radio Network, said: “This is a huge announcement for us and a natural extension of our hugely successful radio brands.
“The element of speech-driven content has long been missing on UK Asian commercial radio, and the launch of Lyca Xtra fills that gap.
“The podcast will feature round-table debates that truly resonate with our listeners, along with interviews exploring health, finance and lifestyle topics that directly impact British Asians.”
Each episode will include wide-ranging editorial coverage through in-depth conversations on topics that may be sensitive or less commonly addressed within South Asian communities.
There will also be interviews with business leaders, celebrities and entrepreneurs whose experiences reflect the ambitions of younger British Asians.
Presenters from across the Lyca Radio Network will host the series, with celebrity guests joining for special editions
Listeners will be able to access Lyca Xtra across all major audio platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, YouTube, Audible, JioSaavn and Gaana.
A visual edition will also be produced for Lyca Radio’s Instagram and YouTube channels to broaden engagement among audiences who prefer on-screen content.
