Marketing agency IMA launches new podcast which cuts the BS

Global marketing agency IMA has launched a new, straight-talking podcast, Real Talk which will aim to give the industry a dose of reality.

Hosted by Managing Director Alex Uprichard and Chief Executive Partner Nickii Gray, each episode invites an industry leader to call BS on a topic relevant to the marketing world. Topics will range from the north-south divide to whether robots are taking over the world, and everything in-between.

The podcast is for brand leaders, marketers, and agency folk who want thought-provoking, straight-talking conversation.

Guests include IPA lead Josh Krichefski, ITV’s Business Director Jason Spencer and Pregnant Then Screwed’s Lauren Fabianski. Alex and Nickii are also joined by an IMA expert or two, who share their experience in each episode.

The first episode features best-selling author and creative director Amy Kean and Bloom North’s Head of Allyship, Seb Randle, who is also founder of The Helpful Space.

Amy, Seb, Alex and Nickii examine the bias often seen in the marketing world, where terminology to describe female leaders differs to their male counterparts. Their discussion is around the importance of language, whether imposter syndrome really is a thing and they give advice on what can be done to combat this bias.

Alex Uprichard, Managing Director at IMA and Real Talk co-host comments: “Marketing often seems like it’s talking to itself, we’re in a world riddled with empty jargon. The industry needs a bit of a reality check.

“Real is a word that’s firmly rooted in the DNA of IMA, so it felt right for our podcast to focus on keeping it real. With each episode based around cutting the BS, we spark healthy debate and discussion. Expect great conversation, great company, and definitely no BS!”

Released bi-weekly, Real Talk will be available on Spotify and all other major podcast platforms from Wednesday 8 May.
