National Park After Dark has joined the fwd. network, adding the show to its expanding portfolio of women-led podcasts.
This brings the true crime series into a collection of programmes led by female creators and aimed at growing its reach with advertisers and new audiences.
The podcast is hosted by Danielle LaRock and Cassie Yahnian and focuses on crimes, disappearances and historical tragedies linked to America’s national parks.
Each episode examines incidents that took place in remote public lands, often combining outdoor storytelling with investigative research.
Danielle and Cassie developed the show around their shared fascination with the hidden histories of wild landscapes. Danielle’s interest began after visiting Yellowstone National Park, while Cassie’s early connection to the outdoors started during trips to Yosemite.
Both hosts also grew up surrounded by the forests of New Hampshire, which shaped their relationship with wilderness and its risks.
The podcast is different within the crowded true crime genre by focusing on incidents connected to national parks and other remote environments, including isolated trails and campsites.
Danielle said: “We’ve always been drawn toward the stories people don’t expect to hear from these places. There’s beauty in national parks, but there’s also real history and sometimes that history is dark.”
Cassie added: “We want listeners to understand that these landscapes hold complex human stories. The wild is powerful, and it deserves curiosity and respect.”
Cathy Csukas, chief executive of AdLarge and founder of the fwd. network, said the podcast brings a distinctive perspective to the network’s slate of shows.
“National Park After Dark brings a unique perspective to storytelling, blending curiosity, adventure, and a deep appreciation for the natural world in a way that resonates strongly with their audience,” she said.
The addition continues the network’s strategy of expanding its line-up of female-led podcasts while offering brands access to established creator communities.
