For the first time, Parenting Hell sees Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe record their hit comedy podcast, with full video episodes arriving on Spotify.
The move marks a new chapter for one of the UK’s biggest and most successful podcasts, which has built a loyal audience since launching in 2020.
Parenting Hell features Rob and Josh’s unfiltered and self-deprecating take on family life, parenting disasters and the realities of juggling work with raising children.
The podcast’s popularity has extended far beyond audio. Its success has helped propel the duo’s book to Number one on the Sunday Times bestsellers list and seen them sell out arenas across the UK with their live show.
The addition of video gives fans another way to connect with the pair and see the chaos that usually only exists in their conversations.
Josh Widdicombe says: “I am delighted people can now see what a mess we are and not just hear it. Plus, now my sofa is a tax deductible, what a life!”
Talia Stolerman, podcast partner manager at Spotify, says: “We’re thrilled to see Parenting Hell evolve as it returns this January with full video episodes for the very first time.
“Ever since it launched, the show has connected with listeners in ways that not many podcasts can. With Parenting Hell now bringing video episodes to Spotify, fans will be more immersed in the worlds of Rob and Josh.”
The first-ever video episode is available to watch today, Tuesday 6 January, and features a classic Parenting Hell conversation, with Rob and Josh sharing stories and confessions from the Christmas holidays.
Later this week, on Friday, the podcast’s first visualised guest episode will be released, featuring British former boxing champion Prince Naseem Hamed.
The move comes as video podcasting continues to grow rapidly in the UK. Last year, video podcast consumption hours rose by almost 150% year on year, while the number of UK listeners watching video podcasts increased by more than 60%.
Spotify says the expansion of shows like Parenting Hell into video underlines how audiences want more flexible ways to engage with their favourite creators.
Parenting Hell will continue to be released twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday, with both video and audio available on Spotify.
An audio-only version of the podcast will remain available across all major podcast platforms, ensuring listeners can still tune in wherever and however they prefer.
