The line-up features returning series, new documentaries and anniversary programming.

Podcasts include the return of Kate Lister’s Betwixt the Sheets: History’s Worst Fck Boys*. Across four new episodes every Tuesday, the series uncovers the lives of notorious figures including Nero, Rasputin, Raphael and Charles II.

Mondays feature After Dark: The Dark Side of Ancient History, with Anthony and Maddy examining topics such as the cruellest Roman emperor, mummification rituals and gladiatorial violence.

Don Wildman also presents American History Hit: The Road to Civil War, with new episodes each Thursday focusing on the decisive events that divided America.

On the History Hit SVOD platform, REBELS! launches on 4 September with a documentary on William Wallace, followed by Owain Glyndwr on 25 September. Presented by Mike Livingston, the series explores rebels who shaped British history, visiting battlefields, archives and experts to unpick their legacies.

Tristan Hughes also presents The Picts: Ancient Barbarians on 11 September, a one-hour film investigating archaeological discoveries that are rewriting the story of Scotland’s early people.

History Hit’s YouTube channel launches Last Days of WWII on 15 September, with Dan Snow examining unique material from the Imperial War Museum’s collection, including Hitler’s final will and the story of his so-called wonder weapons.

Little Dot’s Real Stories channel marks the anniversary of 9/11 with New York 2001 on 11 September, offering a human portrait of the city in the weeks after the attacks.
