Spotify has introduced two new Audiobooks+ add-on subscriptions to give Premium users more flexibility with their audiobook listening each month.
Following successful trials in Ireland and Canada, Spotify is rolling out the new options to Premium subscribers in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein.
The Audiobooks+ add-on is available to Premium Individual subscribers as well as Family and Duo plan managers, giving them an extra 15 hours of audiobook listening each month.
Spotify is also launching Audiobooks+ for Plan Members, allowing additional Family and Duo plan members to access 15 hours of monthly audiobook listening for the first time.
Plan members can request audiobook access from their plan manager, who can then purchase the add-on on their behalf.
If members run out of hours before their monthly billing cycle refreshes, they can buy a one-time 10-hour top-up to continue listening.
Spotify says these new options will open up audiobooks to millions of new listeners worldwide and help grow the publishing industry.
The company added that its aim with audiobooks is to create the best possible experience for booklovers and help publishers and authors reach new fans and grow their revenue.
