The British Entrepreneur podcast launches second season

Serial entrepreneur Jon Joseph Bourgerie has launched the second season of his podcast, The British Entrepreneur.

Jon is one of the most successful self-made entrepreneurs in the UK. He is the founder of Modball and the British Entrepreneur Club as well as host of The British Entrepreneur YouTube Channel. As an early Bitcoin and crypto investor, Jon was recently featured in the Channel 4 documentary Crypto, Has the Bubble Burst.

The podcast features interesting conversations with a community of business people of all ages and industries. It delves into his guest’s business knowledge in a fun way, to help other like-minded people.

Previous guests have included KSI, Daniel Sloss, Joel Dommett, Spencer Matthews, Spiderman actor Harrison Osterfield, Raphael Rowe, Tommy Mallet, Joe Foster and Dr Steve James.

Jon launched the podcast during lockdown after having discussed the idea with a colleague over a period of time.

“I have a lot of young guys who follow me on social media who want to be successful but have no idea what to do. I like the fact that they can just message me because when I was 18, I never had that, I had all these things I wanted to do but no one to speak to about it,” explains Jon. “I thought I’d do a podcast to give as much info to these guys as possible.

“Instead of replying to every single person, I thought what would benefit me and how would I learn the most – I thought sit down and have conversations with entrepreneurs or famous people who have been super-successful and understand everyone’s journey.”

Jon says he’s fascinated by success stories because it’s hard to be successful and with his podcast he wants to be the person who gives himself, as an 18-year-old, as much information as possible.

He’s not specifically targeting any group of people, but listeners tend to be young, around 80% male, who want to have their own company and he sees the podcast as free mentoring for them.

As for guests on the show, Jon is very particular over who he has on and says he’s lucky to have had some big names.

“I delve into the key moments that got them to where they are. The little stories and little anecdotes are the ones I try and find – I always think of the 18-year-old me and what I would ask that person and that’s how I storyline the conversations,” he says.

Jon says he doesn’t really have any plans for this season of The British Entrepreneur, he’s not selling anything but is just doing it because he wants to.

“I do vlogs as well, and the reason I do them is because when my kids are 18, I want them to think I was actually cool,” he jokes. “When I’m 80 I’ll have the content, but ultimately when my kids are older, it’s for them!”

As a British Entrepreneur who started his first company straight out of university, Jon’s business portfolio is spread across events, travel, fitness, property and investing. His Modball Rally is the largest and most successful road trip party in the world with its unique combination of fast cars, partying, celebrity, music and travel.

The event takes place each year through Europe, with its return to America this November. Jon has developed an unconventional approach to business by enjoying life to the fullest and making business fun.

With so much going on in his life, it’s hard to see how he finds time to sit down and regularly record a podcast. Jon says he’s very good with time but it’s mainly down to the very solid team around him.

The podcast is much more than Jon giving back, it’s also about his desire to continually learn new things.

“I want to still be learning when I’m 80”, he admits. “The only people I get inspired around now are people that have really gone for it, like an athlete. I could never be an athlete, it’s just not in me but I love speaking to someone who’s a world champion. I’m fascinated by it, way more than they are.

I’ve got a friend who won a medal at the Olympics for rowing, and he’s not bothered by it at all, but I think it’s the coolest thing in the world. I once wore his medal for a laugh just thinking I’ve won it, but he doesn’t think it’s cool at all and the people that I sit with, they don’t think that what they’ve done is that cool – I don’t think what I’ve done is cool either,” he adds.

Guests so far on the recently launched new season of The British Entrepreneur have been art gallery owner, James Ryan and AJ & Curtis Pritchard. There’s a list of other well-known people lined up and although Jon can’t reveal who they are at the moment, he says they’re equally as good as his previous guests.
