Nominees for the True Crime Awards 2026 have been revealed including the podcast categories.

The annual awards have unveiled their full shortlist, recognising work across documentary, podcasting, publishing and digital media, with this year’s podcast categories featuring a mix of investigative series and long-running true crime shows.

Among those, there are nine nominated for Podcast of the Year. These include Charlene: Somebody Knows Something from The Crime Desk at DMG Group, Coining It from Global, and Hunting the Whisky Bandits from BBC Scotland.

Also shortlisted are Murder Mile UK True Crime from Audio Always, Pipeline: Left to Die from The Crime Desk at DMG Group, and The Crime Agents from Global.

Completing the category are The Trial from The Crime Desk at DMG Group, UK True Crime Podcast from Audio Always, and Watching You from Sony Music Podcasts.

Organisers say the awards recognise creators who combine rigorous research, narrative craft and ethical responsibility. They add that this year’s shortlist reflects a breadth of talent, from investigative teams to emerging voices shaping how true crime stories are told.

Across all categories, judges reported growth in innovative formats, cross-platform storytelling and collaborations between journalists, survivors, law enforcement and advocacy groups.

The full shortlist is available at the True Crime Awards website.

Winners will be announced at the True Crime Awards ceremony on 4 June at the Hilton London Bankside, where leading figures from across the industry will gather to celebrate excellence and impact.
