Podcast listeners now have access to a new subscription service, 20/20 True Crime+, from ABC News Podcast Network and 20/20, available exclusively on Apple Podcasts.
The subscription offers early access to new true crime series, exclusive content, and an expanded archive of 20/20 episodes, including ad-free listening.
Subscribers can also participate in Q&A sessions with Deborah Roberts, host of 20/20: The After Show, and unlock hundreds of hours of archival audio previously unavailable elsewhere.
Coinciding with the launch, ABC News Podcast Network has announced two new series: What Happened to the McStays? and Burden of Proof: Luigi Mangione.
Subscribers can immediately access the first three episodes of What Happened to the McStays? and the first episode of Burden of Proof: Luigi Mangione. Trailers for both series are available for free on all podcast platforms.
What Happened to the McStays? explores the 2010 disappearance of a family from Southern California. The investigation initially led authorities to believe the family had gone to Mexico, but later developments in the Mojave Desert pointed to an unexpected suspect.
The series is hosted by ABC News correspondent Ashan Singh. For non-subscribers, the series will premiere on 11 August across all podcast platforms.
Burden of Proof: Luigi Mangione is a five-part series examining the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson and the subsequent arrest of Luigi Mangione, who has pleaded not guilty.
The podcast, hosted by legal analyst Brian Buckmire, investigates Mangione’s background and the wider implications for healthcare debates in the United States.
Subscribers receive early access to the first episode on 7 August, with the public release beginning on 10 August and new episodes released weekly.
ABC News Podcast Network’s previous true crime series, including Bad Rap: The Case Against Diddy, Bridge of Lies, What Happened to Holly Bobo?, and Devil in the Desert, have been recognised on Apple Podcasts and Spotify charts.
Devil in the Desert held the top spot on Apple Podcasts’ Top Shows chart for over three weeks, marking it as the most successful limited series from ABC Audio and 20/20 to date.
