BBC Radio 5 Live’s Elis James and John Robins double up podcast

Elis James and John Robins are set to release two podcasts on BBC Sounds every week in 2024.

The comedians and best mates will double up episodes of their award-winning podcast each week covering a diverse range of topics from personal anecdotes to pop culture and more.

The podcasts will be available from early next year on BBC Sounds and will air on BBC Radio 5 Live on Friday afternoons.

On the news, presenter Elis James said: “There’s nothing as exciting as a new project. There’s nothing as exciting as working on BBC Sounds, regarded by opinion formers, heavy hitters and movers and shakers as the world’s best content provider.

“So as John and I are beginning a new project with BBC Sounds and BBC 5 Live, you can rest assured that my excitement levels have been turned up to eleven.”

Comedian, John Robins also added: “Across the world, two words transcend all borders, barriers and boundaries: BBC SOUNDS!

“To me, this is a blank canvas, an audio easel on which to capture content for future generations. And just as works by Renoir, Matisse and Van Gogh now sell for enormous sums, it is my prediction that within a decade Elis and I will have created the first ‘Billion Pound Podcast’.”

Heidi Dawson, Controller of BBC Radio 5 Live commented: “Elis and John are incredibly popular with our listeners, so we’re absolutely thrilled that soon they’ll be doubling their podcasts each week.

“Their award-winning comedy podcast has been entertaining Radio 5 Live audiences for years and it feels a real treat that as well as a weekly Friday dose of Elis and John, listeners will now get twice as much of their comedy gold on BBC Sounds.”
