Candid Divorce Lawyer podcast doubles audience reach milestone

The Candid Divorce Lawyer podcast’s audience has nearly double during its third season, with over 1,500 streams in 30 days and a total surpassing 10,000 streams and downloads.

Hosted by Kimberley Davies, Family Law Partner at Trethowans in Bournemouth, the podcast offers practical advice and emotional support for those experiencing divorce and separation.

Episodes feature interviews with legal professionals, family therapists, financial advisers, and parenting coaches, to guide listeners from the earliest stages of relationship breakdown.

The most listened-to episode so far is an open conversation with best-selling author Helen Thorn, known as half of the comedy duo Scummy Mummies.

Topics covered include financial management, wellbeing during separation, the impact on children, and challenging questions such as how to divorce a narcissist or cope with intense emotions.

Kimberley, who has over 15 years’ experience in family law and is a qualified mediator, said: “These are open, real conversations not just around divorce and family law – but everything that comes with it, because relationship breakdown impacts every area of your life.

“We know people facing a separation are often at their most vulnerable and uncertain at the very beginning, when a lack of information can actually fuel conflict and lead to worse outcomes.

“So we wanted to bridge that gap and offer the kind of expert guidance people need, whether that’s by demystifying the legal process, tackling the practical considerations or unpicking the emotional fallout.”

Guests have included author and motivation expert Laura Mountford, therapist Hannah Strong, and Daisy Harris-Reid, founder of Mum about Town, alongside other specialists and social media personalities.

The podcast was recognised with the Innovative Marketing Award at the Legal Growth Awards 2026 and is preparing for a fourth series later this year.

Kimberley added: “Hosting the podcast has been a great experience. We have had some amazing guests whose openness, insight and willingness to share their knowledge and experiences are what make it special.

“It’s also helping us break down that myth that lawyers are scary – which is the last thing we want people to feel when they are facing one of the toughest times of their lives.”
