Comedian and Absolute Radio presenter Frank Skinner is back with the fifth series of his Poetry Podcast, launching today, 1 June.
Featuring six new poetry collections across the series, each week Frank takes an in-depth look at one of his favourite poems, whether it’s a new discovery or older classic.
Analysing the piece line by line, Frank’s funny, honest, and sensitive take on each poem has been popular with both audiences and critics alike over the last four series, as the presenter has drawn praise for his infectious love for the art form and ability to bring his own personal experience to the pieces.
As a lover of poetry Frank has covered a wide range of writers during the podcast including William Wordsworth, Caroline Bird, John Milton, Robert Frost and new discoveries like Ella Frears.
Frank says “My poetry podcast is back with the usual mix of brilliant poetry and air-punching joy. Subjects this series include the first poetry book I ever bought and a poet who had a fling with Anne Boleyn.”
This season Frank has chosen a whole range of new poems to discover with his listeners from Roger McGough to Emily Dickinson.
Frank Skinner’s Poetry Podcast is available from today with a new episode each week. Listen and download on Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and all mainstream podcast providers.
