Greg James joins Acast to launch new Formula 1 podcast

Broadcaster Greg James is launching a new Formula 1 podcast, The Fast And The Curious with the Acast Creator Network.

Greg is Team Principle (executive producer) of the podcast and has signed up sports presenter Betty Glover, F1 fanatic and broadcast journalist Christian Hewgill and a rolling cast of some of the biggest drivers in the world.

In addition to access to the drivers on and off the grid, The Fast And The Curious will go behind the scenes to show what Formula 1 is all about. More than just a motoring podcast, the show promises to entertain whilst giving the drivers a chance to speak directly to their fans.

Guests confirmed for the first few episodes include; Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, Jenson Button, Toto Wolff, Alex Albon, Esteban Ocon, Logan Sergeant, Oscar Piastri, George Russell, and some of the very tired mechanics from the pre-season builds.

Greg James says: “We want this podcast to be a space for everyone, covering much more than just lap times and race results

“The Fast And The Curious delves into the issues facing Formula 1 on and off the track, from Lewis Hamilton telling us why he’s such a vocal advocate for change in the sport to hearing from some of the talented women working in the historically male-dominated team garages.

“F1 is fast, and we’re curious. See you on the grid…or wherever you get your podcasts from.”

Christian Hewgill says: “Formula 1 is the greatest sport in the world. I LOVE it. Arguably too much. But I can’t wait to share it with everyone.

“After being lucky enough to chat to plenty of drivers over the last few years, the chance to have some fun with them on this new show, alongside one of my best mates in the world Betty Glover (and that tall chap from the radio) seems like an excellent idea to me. I’m excited. Maybe too excited.”

Betty Glover comments: “I absolutely love sports. From a young age, it has completely dominated my life… and most weekends, you’ll find me freezing cold at a football match somewhere around the country. And, while I always kept an eye on Formula 1, I’ve never really followed it that closely.

“Like most people worldwide, a certain Netflix series sparked my interest, and I am falling in love with it with every race. It’s never felt that open to new fans in the past, but we’re going to change all that, and I’m so excited to learn more. Also… I’m all for swapping Molineux for Monaco.”

Josh Woodhouse, Managing Director, UK & Ireland at Acast added: “This is a must-listen not only for F1 fans but any sports podcast fan. Greg’s, Betty’s, and Christian’s broadcasting expertise means that The Fast And The Curious is the best place to hear the candid side of Formula 1.”

The Fast And The Curious joins the Acast Creator Network and will be available from this Thursday, 23 February on all podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Spotify and Google Podcasts.
