Pinna has announced a sixth season of its children’s storytelling podcast, Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest, with new episodes due to launch this autumn.
Hosted by bestselling author Adam Gidwitz, the podcast reimagines fairy tales from around the world and allows listeners to choose how spooky each story becomes through its “Grimm, Grimmer, or Grimmest” rating system.
The new season introduces a first for the series, with classroom recordings becoming part of a video edition of the show.
Gidwitz visited pupils at PS 321 in Brooklyn and PS 9 The Naples Street School in Staten Island, capturing their questions, reactions and participation during live storytelling sessions.
The recordings will allow audiences to see the young contributors behind the voices for the first time when the season launches later this year.
To mark the return, Gidwitz will perform a live episode of the podcast during Family Afternoon at The Delacorte on 14 June in New York’s Central Park. The event forms part of celebrations for Shakespeare for the City and Free Shakespeare in the Park.
Molly Barton said: “Adam’s storytelling has an undeniable magic that attracts kids and parents alike. Kids really seem to love being entrusted with strange and sometimes scary stories that Adam guides them through with humor and curiosity.”
She also thanked subscribers who provided feedback on preview versions of the new episodes.
Gidwitz said he was “thrilled to announce that we’re breaking new ground in Season 6” and highlighted the addition of guest storytellers and new tales drawn from different traditions.
First launched in 2018, the podcast won the 2025 Webby Award for Best Kids & Family Podcast and received another nomination in the same category at the 2026 Webby Awards.
It has also received recognition from the Parents’ Choice Awards and the Kidscreen Awards.
Additional details about the sixth season are expected in the coming months.
