HistoryExtra Podcast releases three-part series about D-Day

The HistoryExtra Podcast has launched a new three-part series titled D-Day: Land, Air and Sea, with the final episode released today on the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

The podcast tells the story of the Allied invasion of Normandy from the perspectives of the soldiers, sailors and airmen who served.

Structured around interviews with WW2 experts Saul David, Nick Hewitt and Giles Milton, as well as eyewitness testimonies, the episodes cover the main events of 6 June 1944, and their legacy today.

There’s also a bonus episode being released today about Churchill and D-Day, where Richard Dannatt and Allen Packwood discuss the prime minister’s role in one of the major moments of the Second World War.
