Jamie Vardy podcast launches as Banijay unveils Players Network

Jamie Vardy is launching a new podcast and video series as the first title under Banijay Entertainment’s new digital sports brand.

The new brand, called Players Network powered by Banijay Entertainment, will bring together personality led, social first sports entertainment formats.

Its first project, Jamie Vardy’s Having a Party, launches on 10 June across YouTube, Amazon Prime and major podcast platforms including Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Produced by Workerbee in collaboration with Contentuual, the series is hosted by former Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy.

It will feature guests from football, broadcasting, entertainment, comedy and the creator community. Rebekah Vardy will also make guest appearances throughout the series.

The launch comes as Banijay Entertainment expands its sports content activity through digital formats designed for online audiences.

Banijay Rights will distribute the series internationally, including in the United States, while the launch will also be supported by a UK billboard campaign.

Jamie Vardy said: “I am excited to launch the podcast with one of the major players in the game, Banijay Entertainment. I am still an active player but having an opportunity to chat football and have a banter off the pitch is something that I am really looking forward to.”

Rick Murray, CEO of Workerbee, said: “Sport is a big part of our strategy, and we’re focused on creating digital-first formats that put great talent front and centre. Jamie Vardy’s Having a Party is a perfect example.”

The company says the series will combine football discussion, entertainment and guest interviews, while focusing on stories, debates and personalities from across the sport.

Jamie Vardy’s Having a Party is the first project announced under the Players Network banner, with Banijay Entertainment confirming further international launches are planned.

The move forms part of the group’s wider sports strategy, which also includes formats, documentaries and creator led content developed across its international production businesses.
