A new podcast series will examine what it takes for restaurant businesses to survive in today’s challenging hospitality market.
Restaurateur and founder of Natalia Ribbe is launching Staying Open, a documentary style podcast that looks behind the scenes of some of Britain’s most talked about restaurants.
Across the series, Natalia travels around the UK to meet operators, chefs and founders, exploring the realities of running hospitality businesses during a period of significant pressure for the sector.
Each episode centres on a single question: how do restaurants continue trading through difficult economic conditions and industry challenges?
Through conversations around the table, the podcast hears directly from the people responsible for keeping their businesses operating.
Guests featured in the series include Will Beckett, co-founder of Hawksmoor, Emma Reynolds, Sunaina Sethi, and Mary Wilson alongside Jan Ostle.
Other guests include Emma Dent, Jamie-Lee Job, plus Missy Flynn and Gabe Pryce.
The podcast will document the experiences of restaurant founders and operators who have continued trading despite the pressures facing the hospitality industry, offering listeners insight into the decisions, challenges and resilience required to keep restaurant businesses open.
Sponsored by Square, the series launches on 9 June.
