Rory Bremnar to host podcast featuring Hollywood talent real life international spies

The Spying Game is a new podcast featuring fictional Hollywood spy tales and real-life espionage encounters fit for the big screen.

Each week, broadcaster, satirist, spy enthusiast and host Rory Bremner sits down with a Hollywood filmmaker, international author or TV star and a real-life international spy to separate the facts of true espionage from the fiction we see on screen.

The podcast looks at extraordinary characters with remarkable skills and stories to tell, and offers insight into franchises like Bourne, Bond and Alex Rider.

Guests in series one include Jed Mercurio OBE (Line of Duty, Bodyguard), Anthony Horowitz (Alex Rider, Sherlock Holmes, James Bond), Simon Kinberg (Mr And Mrs Smith, The 355), Lauren Wilkinson (American Spy), Ben Macintyre (Operation Mincemeat), Alistair Petrie (Sherlock, Undercover) and Joe Weisberg (The Americans); plus Jonna Mendez (former CIA Chief of Disguise), Janosh Neumann (former Russian FSB counterintelligence officer), Evy Poumpouras (former Special Agent with the US Secret Service) and Mubin Shaikh (former security intelligence and counterterrorism operative).

Rory said: “Throughout my career I’ve spent a lot of time pretending to be other people, where the worst fate I face is a bad review, but now I get to talk to an extraordinary group of people who do it professionally, in a world where the stakes are incredibly high.

“We all love secrets and intrigue, and The Spying Game will take listeners inside the world of international spies, in the company of the brilliant writers behind such hits as Agent Sonya, The Bodyguard, and The Americans.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this new challenge and I hope listeners will share my curiosity and fascination with this hidden world.”

The Spying Game is the latest podcast from the SPYSCAPE Podcast Network. New episodes are released each Wednesday from 11 May on all podcast platforms.
