The Rest Is Politics: US announces North American live tour

The Rest Is Politics: US will tour North America for the first time this October.

Hosted by Anthony Scaramucci and Katty Kay, the political podcast will visit seven cities across the United States and Canada between 2 and 12 October.

The live shows arrive as the United States prepares for this year’s midterm elections and marks its 250th anniversary. The podcast focuses on American politics, the White House and wider social issues, combining insider analysis with debate between the two presenters.

Stats show that the podcast now attracts more than eight million streams each month and ranks strongly in several international markets, including the UK, Ireland, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.

Katty said: “Politics is moving at extraordinary speed, and the midterms will be a major test of where the country is heading next. What makes this tour so exciting is the chance to take the conversation beyond Washington and hear directly from audiences across North America.”

Anthony added: “The midterms will tell us a huge amount about the future of Trump’s presidency, the direction of the Republican Party, and whether the country can still argue without setting the furniture on fire.”

Tom Whiter, General Manager of Politics and Current Affairs at Goalhanger, said the timing of the tour reflected the importance of this year’s political climate in the US.

“Katty and Anthony prove that we can disagree agreeably, offering a sophisticated alternative to the fractured and divisive rhetoric online,” he said.

Members of The Rest Is Politics: US will receive presale access from 8 May, before tickets go on general sale from 15 May.
