29th Annual Webby Awards announces 2025 winners

The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences has announced the winners for the 29th Annual Webby Awards.

Hosted by writer, comedian, and actress, Ilana Glazer The Webby Awards star-studded ceremony will take place at Cipriani Wall Street on Monday 12 May.

Webby Winners are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences whose members include: Quinta Brunson, Writer, Director and Actor; Todd Kaplan, CMO, Kraft Heinz; Jaime Teevan, Chief Scientist, Microsoft; Desiree Perez, CEO, RocNation; Law Roach, Image Architect; Shigetaka Kurita, Artist & Father of Emojis; Shannon Sharpe, NFL Hall of Famer & Host, Club Shay Shay & NightCap; Severin Hacker, Cofounder & CTO, Duolingo and more.

The Webby Awards will also honour a group of individuals for their outstanding contributions to Internet culture with the Special Achievement Awards.

They join the ranks of past Special Achievement winners including Prince, Kim Kardashian, Megan Thee Stallion, Greta Thunberg, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Solange, Takashi Murakami, Adam Sandler, and the founders of Instagram and many more others.

They’ve harnessed the power of the Internet to drive change, spark conversations and connect us in new ways. With the introduction of new categories, these creators are being recognized for shaping the future of the digital world.”

This year, the Webby Awards will award Google for their first-ever Brand of the Year achievement with seven Webby Wins, nine People’s Voice Wins, 24 Nominees and nine Honourees.

The Academy presents the Webby Podcast Company of the Year to the organisation that has earned the most honours across the Podcast categories. With six Webby Wins and eight People’s Voice Wins, alongside nine Nominees and 11 Honourees, iHeartMedia brings home the award.

Additionally, the Academy announced NBCUniversal as the Webby Media Company of the Year for earning the most honours across all Webby categories with four Webby Wins, nine People’s Voice Wins, 19 Nominees and 11 Honourees.

This year’s newly introduced suite of Creator categories shed a spotlight and celebrate the booming creator economy and growing influence of creators who are shaping culture, entertainment and the Internet.

Winners of these categories who have played a transformational role in digital experiences include Caleb Simpson, Chris Klemens, Colin Furze, Jake Shane, Jameis Winston, Joe Ando, Joshua Weissman, Laufey, Nick DiGiovanni, Skibidi Toilet, Trixie Mattel, Zach King, and others.
