Katty Kay explores confidence in new podcast series

A new podcast series will examine how confidence shapes decision-making, with a particular focus on women’s experiences in work and life.

Goalhanger is set to launch Doing It Anyway, hosted by journalist and author Katty Kay, from 10 July.

The six-part weekly series, produced in partnership with Vanguard, will bring together data, psychology and real-life stories to explore how people can build confidence and approach opportunity, ambition and risk differently.

Katty, known for her work on The Rest Is Politics: US and as co-author of The Confidence Code and Womenomics, will interview psychologists, business leaders, authors and public figures.

The series will look at how confidence is built, why it matters, and what prevents people from acting on their ambitions.

Topics across the series include the confidence gap between men and women, the impact of self-doubt, the psychology of resilience, and practical steps for moving forward when feeling uncertain.

Confirmed guests include Adam Grant, organisational psychologist and author; Mika Brzezinski, founder of the Know Your Value movement and co-host of Morning Joe; Ally Love, Peloton instructor and CEO of Love Squad; Anne-Marie Imafidon, CEO of Stemettes; Dr Kristin Neff, expert on self-compassion; and Anthony Scaramucci, Wall Street financier and Katty’s co-host on The Rest Is Politics: US.

Katty said of the new series: “I’ve wanted to do this series for a long time. There are so many things I wish I’d known when I was starting out – the hurdles, failures and fears I’ve had to work through along the way.

“In these episodes, we’re sharing the best of my research, but also lots of practical advice: how to recognise the obstacles, face them down, and do it anyway.”

Episodes of Doing It Anyway With Katty Kay will be available on YouTube and all podcast platforms from 10 July, with new episodes released every Friday for six weeks.
