England Netball launches its first official podcast

Courtside is the first official podcast launched by England Netball to bring fans closer to players, the national team and the game.

The six-episode series is hosted by television and radio presenter Lindsey Chapman, who welcomes Vitality Roses Head Coach, Jess Thirlby as the first guest.

Recorded at her old secondary school where her love for netball began, she talks about her journey in the sport to date, her progression from a player to a coach, and what she will be considering when she makes her all-important squad selection for the Commonwealth Games.

Fran Connolly, England Netball CEO, said: “This is a summer like no other for our sport and we are excited to be launching a new audio podcast series to coincide with a moment in time when the spotlight will be on our players, the team and netball like never before.  Courtside will see us bring fans and new audiences closer to the game, celebrating brilliant stories on and beyond the court, whilst offering fans a new way to engage in our sport.”

Host Lindsey Chapman added: “‘Courtside’ is about connecting with our national team and telling their personal stories on and beyond the court. As a presenter and self-confessed netball nut, I’m excited to delve deeper into our wonderful sport, hearing from the on-court heroes of netball to inspire a nation this summer, whilst bringing a different perspective and having plenty of fun. I can’t wait to chat all things England Netball ahead of this huge summer of sport and follow the team’s journey every step of the way.”

Future episodes will be released over the next few months, including an interview with a big name from England Netball, fan questions and views from some famous faces who share a love for netball.

Courtside, the official England Netball podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Music and AudioBoom.
