Mental Health Rewritten hosted by multi award-winning producer Dominic Lawson is a new podcast aiming to break the silence on stigmatised mental health topics.
The series will blend education, storytelling, and actionable insights, to rewrite how mental health is discussed, understood, and addressed.
The release during Mental Health Awareness month is a marker for the podcast’s commitment to bringing awareness on mental health struggles, impact and healing.
Each season will explore interconnected themes such as sex, suicide, race, addiction, trauma, and neurodiversity, combining real-life stories with expert insights.
The first season hopes to rewrite internal and external dialogues around sex, suicide, and cultural identity – from desire to dysfunction, Lawson and his guests explore topics such as trauma, attachment, and addiction.
Dominic Lawson, who has won numerous accolades, including a Webby, for his audio works like Black is America, Recovery Replay, and Beyond Theory, says: “This show is a response to combat the stigma and the silence that far too often leads to harm.
“We are living in a time where I fear mental health is sometimes being reduced to trends and viral catch phrases. At ‘Mental Health Rewritten,’ we want to offer something deeper – a space where stories are seen with honesty and not sanitised.
“We can’t heal what we won’t talk about so it’s time to rewrite the narrative to learn and grow as a society.”
Mental Health Rewritten launches today, Wednesday 14 May and is available on all podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Amazon Music.
