Taylor Swift reveals The Life of a Showgirl on New Heights podcast

In a surprise appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast New Heights, Taylor Swift has officially announced her twelfth studio album.

The singer-songwriter joined Kelce and his brother Jason for the latest episode, confirming the new record’s title as The Life of a Showgirl. The reveal came just hours after Swift’s website launched a countdown on Monday, sparking intense fan speculation about a new release.

In a teaser clip from the podcast, Swift told listeners: “So I wanted to show you something,” before holding up a blurred-out album cover. She added: “This is my brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”

The artwork will be fully revealed when the complete episode premieres at midnight BST on Thursday 14 August.

The countdown on Swift’s official site ended at 12.12am ET on 12 August, at which point preorders opened for multiple formats.

While no release date has been confirmed, a listing for a limited “Portofino orange glitter” vinyl suggests fans might expect shipping to begin by 13 October.

The announcement marks the first major update from Swift since the ongoing Eras Tour, with TaylorNation sharing a set of orange-themed tour photos to Instagram alongside the caption: “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’”

The New Heights podcast episode is set to feature more details about the album, along with Swift’s first extended on-air conversation with Travis Kelce. Given her track record, the reveal is likely to set off another wave of anticipation from her dedicated fanbase.
