Big John Fisher shares overcoming debt and fame on Joe Marler podcast

Internet personality John Fisher discusses overcoming debt and unexpected fame in a new episode of Joe Marler’s podcast.

Big John Fisher appears on Joe Marler Will See You Now, reflecting on how financial pressure and family life shaped his path into online recognition.

John explains he did not set out to build a following, with his early videos filmed by his sons without his knowledge.

He recalls discovering his popularity when approached in public by someone asking for a photo, which led him to understand the scale of his online presence and gradually take part in filming.

He also describes how a simple phrase became central to his identity online. “I never meant to say bosh. I said it, I said it once in a video,” he says, adding that audience reaction pushed him to repeat it in later clips.

Away from social media, John speaks openly about the financial difficulties his family faced, including significant debt linked to work and the impact of the pandemic.

He outlines the importance of addressing problems directly rather than avoiding them. “If you talk to people and you talk things through rather than run and hide, you can get out of these holes,” he says.

John also reflects on how he managed the emotional strain, choosing to shield his family from the full extent of the situation while continuing to work towards resolving it.

He describes moments of low mood but says he focused on staying active and finding ways to improve their position.

The conversation also touches on his views around community and standing against discrimination, following an incident involving a vandalised takeaway.

John says he felt strongly about supporting those affected and rejecting actions carried out in the name of national identity.

The episode is available now on YouTube and all podcast platforms.
