Noel Gallagher’s brutal message lands in new Games Gone podcast episode

Episode two of Games Gone: The Steve Bracknall Podcast has arrived with one of the most startling celebrity responses Steve has ever received.

A simple request from Steve for signed raffle merchandise ends in a spectacularly blunt message from Noel Gallagher that instantly steals the show.

In the episode, Steve explains that he had spent days politely pestering the Oasis star for a donation, hoping to secure something special for a charity raffle.

When Noel eventually replied, the message was unmistakably him, opening with a sharp “Yes mate,” before continuing that he has no idea who Steve is, questions how he even got his number, and warns that if the messages continue, he will block him outright!

He also adds that he is “on the other side of the world changing people’s lives,” before going in again and asking what on earth Steve’s “Last of the Summer Wine accent” is supposed to be and whether he puts it on deliberately?

Away from Noel’s unfiltered message, Steve turns to this week’s listener question: which three people would he invite to a dream dinner party?

His first pick is Terry Venables, reflecting on how the legendary manager “captured the nation’s hearts back during Euro ’96” and remains one of the defining sporting figures of his childhood.

Next is Sir David Attenborough, whom Steve cheerfully describes as “a colleague now at the BBC,” dropping the comment so casually that even he seems amused by it.

And finally, he chooses his dad, adding simply: “I miss him,” bringing a rare moment of quiet emotion to an otherwise unpredictable episode.

Games Gone: The Steve Bracknall Podcast is available now on BBC Sounds, with full visual episodes landing on YouTube from 5pm.
