Piers Morgan’s Uncensored content platform is expanding its creator led audio and video network after appointing former MSNBC president Rashida Jones as chief executive.
The move comes alongside a capital raise led by Raine Ventures and Antenna Group, with additional backing from investors including the Reuben Brothers, to support the company’s next phase of growth.
Uncensored was launched around the flagship programme Piers Morgan Uncensored and is now developing into a broader digital network built around talent led content across multiple formats.
The company says the funding will accelerate the development of new audio and video channels, along with events, subscriptions and other partnerships.
The strategy is to position the business as a multi genre platform distributed across digital outlets rather than relying on a single show or channel.
Piers Morgan said the announcements mark an important step in building a global media operation centred on discussion and debate.
“The ambition for Uncensored has always been to build a global home for fearless, high engagement content that cuts through the noise. Today’s announcements will help us create exactly that,” he said.
Rashida Jones joins after serving as president of MSNBC, where she oversaw the network’s expansion into streaming, social media, podcasts, film, newsletters and live events.
As chief executive, Rashida will lead the company’s global operations and oversee its development as a creator focused digital network.
Her remit includes expanding audiences internationally through programming, distribution partnerships and live experiences.
She said the platform already competes with traditional media outlets while responding to changing audience habits.
“Piers developed an incredible platform with Uncensored that’s already going head-to-head with legacy media,” she said. “In today’s fragmented media world, audiences are craving real conversations grounded in authenticity, rigour, and open debate.”
The investment will also support new talent driven channels and further expansion beyond the company’s current programming slate.
Alongside Piers Morgan Uncensored, the business recently launched History Uncensored, presented by journalist and former CNN anchor Bianca Nobilo.
Joe Ravitch, partner and co-founder of The Raine Group, will join the board as part of the investment.
Joe said the company is well placed to benefit from the growth of creator led media and direct audience relationships as it scales its operations.
