Cold Feet cast discuss possible return on Gaby Roslin podcast

The cast of Cold Feet have discussed the possibility of the series returning while appearing together on Gaby Roslin’s podcast.

Jimmy Nesbitt, Fay Ripley, John Thomson and Cel Spellman joined Gaby Roslin on the latest episode of Reasons to be Joyful, where the group reflected on the show and addressed ongoing rumours about a potential comeback.

During the conversation, Jimmy said he would welcome the idea of the series returning after seeing how strongly audiences reacted when it came back previously.

He said: “The very fact people responded in the way they did suggests to me that there is no reason why it shouldn’t come back… I’d love it to come back.”

John Thomson agreed and suggested that testing the idea with a special could be one way forward, pointing to another well-known British sitcom revival as an example.

He said: “As far as I am concerned on a business model level you should supply on demand really so I don’t know what they are doing… I’ve already teased the idea, because of the success of Gavin and Stacey and their reunited Christmas special it would be better to test the water with a Christmas special.”

The episode features the actors speaking openly about their experiences working together on the long-running ITV drama, which first aired in 1997 before returning years later with much of the original cast.

Jimmy also told Gaby he felt nervous when the cast reunited for the previous revival of the series, despite their long history together on screen.
